Project 02
Chuckanut Drive, WA
The Brief
A self-directed shoot built to answer one question: could Arc'teryx's Alpha SV jacket be shot with the same editorial weight as a high-fashion campaign — outdoors, on location, without a studio or brand budget? The goal was fashionable lifestyle imagery that placed the product in its natural environment without sacrificing visual sophistication.
The Approach
Governor's Point was chosen deliberately — dense Northwest forest with the kind of mist and atmospheric depth that money can't manufacture. Shooting in heavy fog was the whole point; it created a moody, almost otherworldly backdrop that made the jacket's color pop without any artificial contrast. A brighter jacket against a grey-green misty forest does the work a lighting kit would otherwise do. The result is imagery that feels editorial and brand-ready at the same time.
The Result
The shoot proved that commercial-quality Arc'teryx imagery can be produced independently, on location in the Northwest, with no brand brief and no agency involvement. The images are available for licensing and campaign use.
